Residue Wax (Foots Oil)
Foots Oil or Residue Wax is a paraffinic product that contains 25 to 50 percent liquid paraffin and the rest is solid paraffin. This product is obtained from the feedstock iso recycles of iso-maxes, which is a by-product of the iso-max unit and is produced in refineries located in Tehran, Isfahan, Tabriz, Shiraz, Arak, and Bandar Abbas.
After separating the liquid paraffin using physical processes, the remaining product is converted to Foots Oil, which is available in domestic and export markets and has various applications in different industries.
Due to the process conditions of the iso-max unit, such as high temperature and pressure and hydrogen injection, iso-maxes and consequently Foots Oil have a very low aromatic percentage, which does not harm the skin when in contact with it. This feature makes Foots Oil one of the main components of hygiene petroleum jelly.
Another application of Foots Oil is in the production of slack wax and low oil content waxes, which is also available in this company.
Foots Oil is a solid at room temperature and has a flash point of around 250°C and an initial boiling point of 300°C, which according to GHS standards, is not flammable but combustible. Foots Oil is not reactive and does not decompose under heat. It is slightly toxic when inhaled, ingested, or in contact with the skin, but does not cause any irritation to the skin or eyes, and is considered a non-toxic base oil and low risk.
Some of the main applications of Foots Oil include tire and elastomer industries, match industries, wood industries, leather goods and shoe industries, cosmetics and hygiene products such as petroleum jelly, firework industries, grease and lubricant industries, textile industries, and more.
